Ollie's big Greek adventure

We've just got back from Oliver's first big trip overseas. Had a lovely week in Greece windsurfing (well, not Oliver - no kit small enough yet).

It was a fantastic trip but travelling with a todller is definitely a challenging experience. Ollie was obviously very excited to experience his first ever flight as he failed to sleep on the plane for the entire 3.5 hours (each way!). It was much more fun running up and down the isle flirting with the cabin crew, and tipping the in-flight meals over the seats!!

We spent everyday outside from morning til night which Oliver loved as he got to run around to his heart's content. Someone commented that he must be solar powered as he didn't stop moving while the sun was up. He even got a certificate at the end of the week for being a champion explorer as he was constantly on the move. One particular attraction that he wanted to go and see at least 5 times a day was the digger that was parked over the road from the hotel. It didn't really do anything but Oliver loved going to stare at it anyway. It was a great source of distraction while mummy and daddy were out windsurfing. What's slightly disheartening is that he has learnt to say 'digger' before he can even say 'mummy'!

All Ollie's exploring did have it's downside though - he managed to trip up a couple of times, one such trip resulting in an Indiana Jones style roll down the stairs of the creche. In true stunt baby style he didn't let it bother him too much though and after a quick cuddle was off playing again.

Now we're back home and I think Ollie is starting to get cabin fever already. We were out playing in the garden early this morning, but it's not quite the same as having a huge sunny beach garden to run around in all day. Oh well, maybe next year...
